Seated Virgin and Child; bare-chested Christ; Christ standing on the Virgin's left knee; Virgin holding a bird in her right hand; bench; crown.

Gaborit-Chopin 2003 and Museum's opinion 2010: Germany, last 3rd of the 14th century.

Atelier of the Kremsmünster Diptych (Gaborit-Chopin)

Polychromy - Gilding
Traces of polychromy.

Reverse
Carved in the round.

Object Condition
Ivory cracked.
Chip with piece missing behind the head, chips to the right hand of the Virgin and on Christ's cloth. Crown of the Virgin and head of Christ restored. Restorations to the base.
Re-filled crack on the Virgin's left cheek.

Acquired from the Guy Ladrière gallery, Paris, 1985.
