Silver (frame);ivory

Height: 70 mm
Width: 40 mm

Crucifixion with the Virgin and saint John the Evangelist; sun and moon.
Border of dentils on three sides.

Museum's opinion 2014: France, 2nd half of the 14th century.

Reverse
Reverse hidden by the metal frame. Label with recent inscription '60208'.

Object Condition
The panel broke vertically in three pieces, which is probably why it was put into a metal frame.

Comments
Inscription on the front in red: 'L72'.

Provenance
Collection of Emanuel Graf Ludolf (b. 1823, d. 1898), diplomat and collector: his bequest to the Museum in 1898 (Note: most of the Old Masters paintings in Linz come from his collection).
