Seated Virgin and Child; bare-chested Christ; crown; throne.
Crosshatched background; foliated border; columns.

Museum's opinion 2014: Flemish or Burgundian, 2nd half of the 15th century.

Polychromy - Gilding
Extensive traces of gilding and polychromy: gold (foliated decoration, hair, crown, throne) and red (architectural details).

Reverse
Curved. The handle which was originally set into a chamfered slot in the back has been lost and has been replaced by a metal addition, pierced at the top for suspension. Traces of glue.

Object Condition
Broken vertically in two pieces which have been put back together.
Green staining.

Provenance
Possibly from Toledo. Acquired by the Museum in 1941 from the Servicio de Defensa del Patrimonio Artístico Nacional.
