Crucifixion with the Virgin and saint John the Evangelist; saint Peter holding a key and book; saint Catherine with broken wheel, crown and martyr's palm; rugged cross.
Crosshatched background. Flamboyant tracery in the spandrels.

Gourdou 1988: Upper Rhenish, end of 14th century.

Smooth. Slightly chamfered along the edges.

Object Condition
Drilled hole in the lower left part and large hole in the lower right part.

Comments
Gourdou, in 1988 suggested it originally was inserted in a frame, which would explain the absence of a slot on the back for the handle.

Provenance
Gift of Cardinal Pierre Hector Couillé, archbishop of Lyon, member of the Diana in 1899.
