Battle scene; king on horseback, fighting (successive identifications: Adolf of Nassau fighting Albrecht of Habsburg at the Battle of Göllheim; king David or Charlemagne); soldiers on horseback; tent; swords.

Jaeckel 1981 and Nuremberg 2014: Germany, end of the 13th century.

Comments
Jaeckel (1981) mistakenly says that this piece is in the Musée de Cluny.
This scene was previously identified as the German king Adolf of Nassau fighting Albrecht of Habsburg at the Battle of Göllheim in 1298. However, it is more likely to be King David or Charlemagne.
