Register 1: Coronation of the Virgin; angel crowning the Virgin; two kneeling angels swinging censers.
Register 2: Adoration of the Magi.
Pointed trefoils in the spandrels.

Gaborit-Chopin 2003 and Museum's opinion 2010: France (Paris?), 2nd quarter of the 14th century.

Hinges
Traces of two missing hinges on the left side.

Reverse
Labelled: '7'.

Object Condition
Ivory cracked and browned (large open cracks). Chips to the left-hand angel's hand and the hinges.
Missing: pieces at bottom right and left; crown; chains of the censers.
Two modern holes, in middle of upper part.
Early restorations.

Comments
The left wing of this diptych was formerly in the collection of Napoléon and Marie-Aimée Amiel-Le Caron de Fleury. See related objects.

Collection of Claudius Côte, Lyon; bequest of Mme C. Côte to the Museum in 1962.
