Buckle: skull.
Pendant
Side 1: saint Barbara with tower and martyr's palm; scalloped arch.
Side 2: saint John the Baptist holding the Lamb of God (Agnus Dei); camel hide; scalloped arch.
Foliated decoration; crosshatched background.

Koechlin 1924: French, end of the 15th century.
Ghent 1986: South Netherlandish (Ghent), 1st half of the 16th century.

Back of the buckle flat and smooth. Pendant carved on both sides.

Provenance
From the convent of saint Barbara of Jerusalem in Ghent (according to Koechlin 1924). Collection of Em. de Rudder: bought from him on 16 June 1867.
