Polychromy - Gilding
Traces of gilding and polychromy (blue, green, orange minium; see report by B. Guineau, 1995, and report by A. Cascio and J. Levy, 1988).

Object Condition
Openwork ivory, broken in several places.The ivories had been placed on pieces of parchment stuck and inserted onto a wooden panel (19th century), which had warped, causing cracks and breaks. The ivories were removed in 1988 and placed simply on a gilt background.
