Reverse
Smooth and flat. Some scratches.Ink inscription: '5'. Inner edge crosshatched.

Object Condition
Missing: left hand of Virgin.
Broken around the lower hinge. Holes in the upper left, upper right and lower right corners.

Comments
Added engraved outline of a coat of arms in the upper right spandrel.

Provenance
Collection of William Burges (b. 1827, d. 1881): his bequest to the British Museum in 1881.
