Coronation of the Virgin; seated Virgin and Child; two angels crowning the Virgin; angels standing on the sides of the bench.
Pinnacles.
Added ink inscription (18th-19th century): 'S. Maria'.

Museum's opinion 2011: Northern French, c. 1340-1360.

Hinges
Traces of two missing hinges on the right side.

Reverse
Label from the Douane Centrale in Paris. Labels with various inscriptions: '44', 'K +/395', '11'.

Object Condition
Missing: crown of the Virgin, hand of one angel.
Later hole above the Virgin's head, for hanging.

Provenance
Collection of Mr. and Mrs. Maxime Levy Hermanos, Paris and New York; Robert L. Hermanos and Miriam H. Knapp, by descent (1991-1993); gift of Robert L. Hermanos and Miriam H. Knapp to the Museum in memory of their parents Mr and Mrs Maxime Levy Hermanos, in 1993.
