Seated Virgin and Child; Christ seated on left arm; Christ in long robe; Christ holding a bird in his left hand; Virgin holding a fruit in her right hand; belt; crown (later); bench.

Extensive traces of polychromy and gilding (hair).

Reverse
Carved in the round; back of the throne carved.

Object Condition
Missing: upper part of the Virgin's head.

Comments
Crosshatched base with a hole filled with wood.

Provenance
Collection of William Maskell (b. 1814, d. 1890): bought from him by the British Museum in 1856.
