Wing, left
Standing Virgin and Child (Vierge glorieuse); two standing angels swinging censers.
Wing, right
Crucifixion with the Virgin and saint John the Evangelist; Virgin with hands clasped.
Pointed trefoils in the gables; rosettes in the spandrels.

Mingorance 2013: Eastern France (Lorraine?), 3rd quarter of the 14th century.

Two hinges.

Polychromy - Gilding
Extensive traces of later gilding and polychromy.

Reverse
Flat and smooth.

Object Condition
Central hole in the upper part of each wing for hanging.

Provenance
Could be the diptych mentioned in 1909 in the handwritten Catálogo General de arte antiguo propiedad de la Condesa de Valencia de Don Juan with the following description: 'Valencia, díptico pintado y dorado, F (Fortuny), 175pts' (Mingorance 2013).
