Reverse
Flat and smooth. Scratches (for glue?).
Object Condition
Ivory cracked.
Holes for hanging.
Object broken in two, then reattached, and crack filled in with plaster in central part.
Comments
As Goldschmidt first observed, it seems that the unusual iconography in this object was inspired by Romanesque, late 11th-century Salernitan ivories.
