			  Missing: bench on which both figures were seated (made of a different piece of ivory?); finger on the right hand of the left hand side apostle.
The upper part of both figures (heads and shoulders) broke off and was glued back into place. 
Several cracks. Discolouration.
Deep hole at the top of the heads of both figures, possibly to secure haloes.
