Tablet 1: Crucifixion with the Virgin and saint John the Evangelist; onlookers.
Tablet 2: Presentation in the Temple; maid holding a candlestick and a basket; Christ standing on the altar between the Virgin and Simeon; hanging lamp.
Pointed trefoils. Border of dentils.

Dalton 1909: France, late 14th century.

Reverse
Metal mounts. Inscriptions (on the reverse of each): 'Two X WM', '78'.

Object Condition
Heavily cracked.

Comments
Both tablets are in metal mounts, with a loop for suspension.

Provenance
Collection of William Maskell (b. 1814, d. 1890): bought from him by the Museum in 1856.
