Saint George and the dragon; saint George on horseback; princess praying; rocks with castle, chapel and trees; king and queen in castle; woven fence; soldier in armour; spear; skull.

Detroit 1997: German (?), probably 1400-1420.

Reverse
Flat and smooth. Piece of wood or cardboard consolidating the joint.

Object Condition
The carving is made of two different pieces of ivory, as is obvious when seen from the back: the castle is carved separately.

Acquired by the Museum in 1876. [Provenance information not yet communicated]
