Seated Virgin and Child (Virgo lactans); Christ seated on the Virgin's left knee; Christ in long robe; Christ touching the back of the Virgin's veil; crown; bench.

Reverse
Carved in the round.

Object Condition
Hole in the underside to attach to a base. Deep crack along the right edge of the piece.
Chipped at the front near the Virgin's feet.

Provenance
From the Abbey of Rheinau (Canton of Zürich); endowment to the Antiquarische Gesellschaft, Zürich; transferred to the Swiss National Museum in 1891.
