Attribution
Unknown

Reverse
Concave. Back of the head carved. Possibly engraved with a merchant's mark. Ink inscription, 'Italian 15th century. Monogram or mark of the artist'.
Modern wedges on either side in which a perspex sheet has been slid to keep the piece upright.

Object Condition
Hole drilled on the side of the Virgin's crown.

Provenance
Collection of H. J. Pfungst (before or in 1891): donated by him to the museum in 1891.
