Width: 80 mm (at the base)

Bust of man; fur collar; fashionable dress.

Guide 2003: Conrad Meit (?), Worms, between 1512 and 1550-1551.

Unknown

Reverse
Carved in the round. Engraved inscription: date 1530 engraved on the base, together with a coat of arms (quartered, with arrow heads, stars and soldiers in bust brandishing a sword).

Object Condition
Part of the front hem of the hat seems to have broken off and been glued back into place.

Comments
This bust is very close in posture to portraits of Philibert of Savoy by Conrad Meit (see for instance a boxwood bust in the Skulpturensammlung und Museum für Byzantinische Kunst in Berlin (Inv. 818) or another one in the British Museum, London (Inv. WB.261).

Provenance
Collection of Ante Topić Mimara (b. 1898, d. 1987): donated to the Croatian people in 1973; foundation of the museum in 1980 and opening to the public in 1987.
