Carved in the round. Back of the bench smooth and flat.
Object Condition
Ivory very cracked, formerly covered by thick varnish (removed in 1986). Chips above Virgin's forehead, beneath her left foot, and on the lower part of the back of her throne. Green staining on the plinth, likely due to an earlier metal stand.
