Tournament; ladies and youths (including kings and queens) observing the jousting knights in armour from the castle battlements; two heralds blowing trumpets; musicians playing drums and the bagpipes; horses; shields.

Lawrence 1969: France, 2nd half of the 14th century.
Museum's opinion 2012: France, 19th or early 20th century in a 14th century style.

Reverse
Smooth and flat. Recessed along three edges (except the upper edge).Several superimposed labels: black label with gold lettering beginning with '57..', white label ending with '...2' and white label over the two former ones '3656'.

Object Condition
Holes (for missing fittings). Broken on the right side around a hole.

Comments
The object is in the style of the 14th century.
