Comments
This relief, together with OA 7272B, also in the Louvre, must have been part of a larger ensemble featuring scenes from the Passion. Gaborit-Chopin (2003) rejects the interpretation of this scene as being the Meal at Bethany (at the house of Simon the Leper), with saint Mary Magdalene anointing Christ's feet.

Provenance
Félix Doistau collection, Paris: gift of Félix Doistau, 1919.
