Unidentified woman kneeling before Christ; disciples; onlookers. Christ and the adulterous woman.
Foliated decoration in the spandrels.

Dalton 1909: German, late 14th century.
Egbert 1929: Italy, early 15th century.
Museum's opinion 2011: German, late 14th century (?).


Attribution
Unknown

Hinges
Traces of two missing hinges on the right (?).

Reverse
Flat. Modern ink inscriptions: 'W' (for William Maskell) and '62'. Five drilled holes on left hand side.

Object Condition
Back very dry and cracked (probably burnt).
Missing: lower left corner, which has been restored with wax.
The hinges indents have also been filled with wax.

Provenance
Collection of William Maskell (b. 1814, d. 1890)(no. 62): bought from him by the museum in 1856.
