Register 2: musician playing drums; male dancer; female dancer; male dancer.

Dog; hunter with a spear; trees; sun.
End, right
Dog pursuing a boar; trees; sun.
Body, back
Dog running; hunter with a spear blowing a horn.
End, left
Two dogs running. Incised inscription: '1425'.
Crosshatched background; foliated border.

Stafski 1965: Northern Italy (?), could date from 1425, as this date is incised on the left side of the box.

Unknown

Polychromy - Gilding
Traces of polychromy.

Reverse
Carved on all sides.

Object Condition
Slightly damaged on the rear border of the lid; several drill holes on the sides.

Comments
Inscription of the date '1425' on left end (doubted by Schlosser 1899).

Provenance
Acquired before 1856 by the Museum.
