Beaded border. Pointed trefoils.

Hinges
Two broken hinges on the right side (modern).

Reverse
Flat and smooth. Ink inscription: 'June/52' and '47' (in red), '16' (in pencil).

Object Condition
Cracked between the archangel Gabriel and the Virgin in the Annunciation scene.

Provenance
Acquired in France. Collection of William Maskell (b. 1814, d. 1890), possibly acquired by him in June 1852; purchased from him by the British Museum in 1856.
