Annunciation; vase of lilies; dove of the Holy Spirit. Nativity with Annunciation to the Shepherds.
Wing, right
Flagellation. Crucifixion with the Virgin and Saint John the Evangelist.
Pointed trefoils in the spandrels. Border of dentils.

Atelier of the Master of the Great Passion Diptychs (Gaborit-Chopin)

Hinges
Two broken hinges.

Reverse
Labelled: 'Chefs-d'oeuvre / de l'art français / 1937 / OA 97', 'A 36'. Engraved: '655', with illegible inscription in cursive. Traces of a wax seal.

Object Condition
Ivory cracked. Hinges broken. Burn-mark on the upper part of the right wing.

Delaunay collection; Alexandre-Charles Sauvageot collection, Paris (no. 224); gift of A.-C. Sauvageot to the Musée du Louvre in 1856; displayed at Musée national du Moyen Âge-Musée Cluny, Paris from 1954 to 1986; at the Louvre since 1986.
