Pointed trefoils in the spandrels.

Polychromy - Gilding
No trace of gilding or polychromy (see unpublished report by A. Cascio and J. Levy, 1995).

Reverse
Recessed to receive the wax. Labelled: 'A. 55', 'Chefs d'oeuvre / de l'Art français / 1937 / Louvre / 93'. In pencil: 'no. 93', 'Sauvageot / no. 93 / OA 112'.

Object Condition
Small chips around the edges.
Small inscription on the lower part: 'XIVe'.

Collection of Alexandre-Charles Sauvageot, Paris (no. 284); given to the Museum by A.-C. Sauvageot, 1856; exhibited at the Musée national du Moyen Âge-Musée Cluny, Paris, from 1948 to 1977; at the Musée du Louvre since 1986.
