Gaborit-Chopin 2003 and Museum's opinion 2010: Paris, c. 1360-1380.
Attribution
Atelier of the Master of the Great Passion Diptychs (Gaborit-Chopin)
Reverse
Inscription in pencil: '333', '98'.
Object Condition
Two holes (for hanging) at the top of the panel. Two other holes through the right side and in the right part of the panel for hinges (modern, lost).
Comments
If this panel was originally part of a diptych, the absence of traces of hinges would imply that its wings were set in metal mounts.
Provenance
Collection of Baron Jean-Charles Davillier (no. 48); bequest of J.-C. Davillier to the Museum in 1883.
