Seated Virgin and Child; Christ seated on the Virgin's left knee; Christ in long robe; Christ holding a fruit in his left hand; crown; bench.

Museum's opinion 2011: French, early 14th century (with later restorations).

Reverse
Carved in the round but lower relief on the back.

Object Condition
Missing: upper part of Christ's body (from the waist up) including the left hand of the Virgin, head of the Virgin (all these pieces are later replacements); right forearm the Virgin.

Collection of Theodore M. Davis (b. 1837, d. 1915), New York; bequest of Theodore M. Davis, 1915.
