Standing Virgin and Child (Vierge glorieuse); two standing angels holding candlesticks.

Warren 2014: France or Germany, c. 1340 (perhaps workshop of the Berlin Master).

Style of the Master of the Berlin Triptych (Berlin Master) (Warren 2014)

Hinges
Traces of two missing hinges on the right side.

Reverse
Flat and smooth.
Central vertical incision. Four vertically aligned holes filled with glue at the bottom.

Object Condition
Pierced by two pairs of holes at the top and at the bottom, filled with glue.

Provenance
Henry Joseph Pfungst (b. 1844, d. 1917); given by him to the Ashmolean in 1899; Department of Western Art (WA1908.193); transferred to the Department of Antiquities in May 2008.
