Wing, left
Register 1: Crucifixion; swooning Virgin supported by Holy Women; saint John the Evangelist and onlookers; sun and moon.
Register 2: Annunciation; vase of lilies; dove of the Holy Spirit. Visitation.
Wing, right
Register 1: Coronation of the Virgin; two angels holding navettes and swinging censers, standing on the sides of the bench or on corbels.
Register 2: Nativity (Virgo Lactans) and Annunciation to the Shepherds; musician shepherd holding a trumpet; musician shepherd or angel blowing a trumpet.
Pointed trefoils.

Attribution
Unknown

Hinges
Traces of two missing hinges.

Polychromy - Gilding
Traces of polychromy: red and blue/green.

Reverse
Flat and smooth. Longer edges slightly chamfered.

Object Condition
Both wings pierced with a hole in upper rim, coming out in the front of the panels. Right wing pierced with a hole in the Nativity scene, above Joseph's head.

Provenance
Collection of Peter and Irene Ludwig, Aachen (bought for them in 1961 by Prof. Dr. H. Schnitzler (Schnütgen-Museum Cologne)); their donation to the Museum in 1977.
