Crucifixion with the Virgin and saint John the Evangelist; rugged cross.
Tiled roof or brickwork in the gables.

Reverse
Reverse divided into 5 compartments, the central one being circular. This indicates that this panel originally was probably part of a set of writing tablets.
Traces of glue and red fabric. Inscription recording the von Az provenance.

Object Condition
Vertical cracks.
Right border chipped.

Provenance
Collection of Moritz Ritter von Az (d. 1883), director of the main post office in Linz and president of the museum association; his bequest to the museum (then called Museum Francisco Carolinum) in 1883-1884.
