Register 1: Burning of saint Denis in the furnace; saint Denis thrown to the lions; trees.
Register 2: beheading of saint Denis; saint Denis, accompanied by angels, carrying his head to the site of the future abbey of Saint-Denis.

Museum's opinion 2012: England, modern in a 14th century style.

Flat and smooth. Cementum visible on either side.

Cracked. Left hand border chipped in places.

This is a copy of a panel in the Musée de Cluny (Cl. 395c).
