Standing Virgin and Child (Vierge glorieuse); angel crowning the Virgin; two standing angels holding candlesticks.
Wing, right
Crucifixion with the Virgin and Saint John the Evangelist; angel holding the sun and the moon.
Rosettes in the spandrels.

Gaborit-Chopin 2003 and Museum's opinion 2010: France, 2nd quarter or middle of the 14th century.

Polychromy - Gilding
Extensive gilding and polychromy, painted flowers on the background (mostly modern; some original: gilding, blue. See report by A. Cascio and J. Levy, 2002).

Reverse
Ink inscriptions: 'Timbal - 1882', 'M. 59'.
On lower part of the left wing: '59'.

Object Condition
Small cracks.
Metal hinges and clasp.
2 holes at the top of the left wing.

Provenance
Collection of Louis-Charles Timbal, Paris (no. 54); acquired from him by the Musée du Louvre in 1882.
