Comments
This relief was not catalogued by Koechlin (1924), and the Virgin's fingers are unusual. Nevertheless, Gaborit-Chopin (2003) does not find sufficient cause to doubt its authenticity.

Provenance
Collection of Alexandre-Charles Sauvageot, Paris (no. 231); gift of A.-C. Sauvageot to the Museum in 1856.
