Traces of polychromy: brown in masonry, background and details of figures.
Reverse
Flat and smooth with a few scratches. Modern ink inscriptions: 'm', 'W.M' (for William Maskell) and '93'.
Object Condition
Vertical crack through the middle, going from the lower part to the centre of the panel.
Provenance
Collection of William Maskell (b. 1814, d. 1890) (no. 93): bought from him by the British Museum in 1856.
